Up till now, getting the combo counter high enough for Blood Rush to be valid was not really possible with EB anyway, so that seemed to be not much of a loss. Up till now I did not really build EB for crit, aside from my Adarza companion and its 60% flat crit chance (please tell me at least that one is still additive!). A similar problem occurs for Sacrificial Steel, which would ideally be replaced by Blood Rush because of the same diminishing returns due to both stacking additively now (getting rid of the other Umbra polarity). That would mean getting rid of an Umbra polarity, which feels incredibly bad. With the new stacking mechanics for Condition Overload, the most optimal way to play would be to replace Sacrificial Pressure completely, as having both has diminishing returns (the first attack might do less damage, but with 100% status chance EB, that's not really an issue).

I can't test it myself (yet), but doesn't that mean that Exalted Umbra Blade is now seriously nerfed? I have four major problems some nice PC Tenno who experienced the update might have some insight into: The formulas for Condition Overload and Blood Rush have been changed dramatically and I've read on several occasions, that people are even discussing dropping (Primed/Sacrificial) Pressure Point and True/Sacrificial Steel completely in favour of those two, because they all stack addititively (respectively) now. Exalted Blade felt really good this way.Ĭondition Overload and the Sacrificial Set were a no-brainer for me until now. Primed Fury and Berserker (together with an Arcane Strike Arcane) made the Attack speed feel really good and with Healing Return made sure I was always topped off concerning health, even in higher level missions.

40% Combo Efficiency together with the Zenurik passive of 60% Combo Efficiency sounded promising and I am (was?) excited for the Heavy Attacks and the new combo system (for the Console Tenno, are Heavy Attacks free with 100% Combo Efficiency, or is there a cap, similar to Energy Drain?). Primed Fever Strike lends itself to this cause very well, up till now complemented by Shocking Touch, which I planned to replace by the new Focus Energy. I went the Chromatic Blade route modded for Corrosive which seemed to be the most useful status. A Ferrox used for sniping stuff from afar and especially its secondary firing mode (for even more status procs) completed the build.

I also really enjoyed Melee 3.0 Phase 1 with quickswapping to my Cyanex modded with Eject Magazine to apply status procs all around without needing to reload, which resulted in a very fluent game style. I'm a console player (Switch) and avid Excalibur Umbra main with a focus on Exalted Blade and the occasional switch to my dynamic duo of Operator and Excal spectre.
